Battery life on Surface Pro 2 running windows 10

I'm looking for anyone with recent experience (most recent post I see is 2014) about a surface pro 2 running Windows 10 ... and HORRIBLE battery life.

My surface is usually used plugged into power but I am currently on the road and had it shut down on me twice ... so I just charged it overnight and then timed it.  after 33 minutes and 16 seconds I screamed from 100% charged to 5%.  Totally unacceptable.

Any one have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

Karen

It has been almost a month and I haven't heard anything - so I am actually timing my machine now.  I just unplugged it - fully charged - and the battery indicators says I have approximately 15 minutes remaining.  This is totally unacceptable.

Please - can someone help me?

No trouble shooting has helped so I finally talked to a customer support technical assist person (guessing he was Tier 1 support but failed to ask).

Bottom line - and INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING - was that I was told the battery cannot be repaired or replaced and that all I could do was live with what is now 5 minutes of battery life or replace my surface.  Planned obsolescence.  Unreal as this is my only computer now; I gave up my desktop for the Surface.

I am appalled that Microsoft is considering this a throw away item.  If ANY ONE out there has any other ideas I would really love to hear them.  Getting a new computer every 2 years is insane.

Thanks

I also have a similar problem and posted battery report to Japanese community.

There are two more people who have the issue "battery life keep decreasing everyday", and I and one of them have SDI battery.

I also am a very dissatisfied Surface Pro 2 owner. A little over 2 years ago I spent over $2K on this computer and accessories and now the battery is dead. (Battery use was fairly light). As we know the battery is not serviceable on this machine. Microsoft Surface Support only offered to let me spend another $700 on a replacement machine as there is no repair service offered. I have to pay another 1/3 of the cost?! I find this unacceptable. Basically I am out $2K and this thing is now a brick after only 2 years. It should have a serviceable battery and they should offer a paid repair service for out of warranty repairs. For a comparison, my $50 (non-Microsoft) electric toothbrush has been recharging daily for 10 years without fault. This will be the last piece of Microsoft hardware I will ever purchase.
