Cannot use Skype with MacOS 10.9.5?

My Skype recently stopped working because it is too old, but I cannot seem to find a version to work on my mac.

According to the system requirements here https://support.skype.com/en/faq/fa10328/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-skype Skype should work on MacOS 10.9 and new Skype requires 10.10.

Looking for old version of Skype here: https://skype.en.uptodown.com/mac/old the last version of Skype that installs on my machines is 7.37, but also ways it is too old to work with skype. Skype 7.43 does not work on my version of MacOS.

So which version would work with MacOS 10.9 and stated and is not too old to use with Skype?

Thank you, I could not download 7.59 from there. I have Comcast and I don't know why, but I cannot seem to download any classic versions from Skype.

However, I happen to try the latest 8.13 and it installed fine???

Really confused as I thought it required 10.10 specifically, but at least I am back online.

I have tried to install 8.13 before, but it failed. Something either changed with the file, or my computer that allowed it to install. I still have 10.9.5 though.

However, you can only download new Skype v8.xx on Mac OS 10.9. My apology for the confusion.

We respect your decision if you don't want to update to the new Skype version.

You can update your OS at your most convenient time. Make sure that you back up your files before updating.
