Good Day
Microsoft, do not dismiss this post, Skype needs proper Wayland support! This isn't something that's optional. Why can't I share my screen in Skype with Wayland? This support needs to be added ASAP!
Thanks

Hello Docmur! My name is Jeremy and I’m happy to help you with your question. This forum is run by fellow users of Microsoft products. I understand the desire for the use of Skype with Wayland, however it is not supported. There is no public statement on this being added, therefore your best option as far as passing along the desire or need for the feature would be to send feedback to Skype through the app and wait for a reply from the developer. Here is a link showing how to send feedback through the app/web app itself. https://support.skype.com/faq/FA34788/how-do-i-send-feedback-for-skype Regards,

Screen sharing with Wayland engine was enabled in one of the previous Skype preview versions, but removed from the later updates.

That's not acceptable! Skype MUST have working Wayland support, it's not optional. The fact I have to use X in order to share my screen, absolutely signifies that Skype is broken and not ready for release. This is core functionality we're talking about, that must be fixed.
Either disable the screen share functionality for all versions of Skype, or make sure Skype works on Wayland. This is not an optional request,

You are free to post feedback for feature requests and improvements in the appropriate areas (in-App, The Skype feedback web portal). There is no guarantee any improvements will be completed to meet your personal timeline. There are known limitations to all software and it is uncommon for any company/developer to completely disable a feature due to a limited compatibility issue. A singular end user or group does not dictate that decision or its priority. You are free to locate and use other free chat software that currently meet your needs.

Good Day
My point is that Skype isn't properly working on the most utilized and widespread operating system. Linux has roughly 80%+ of the total computing market, and yet Skype is designed to lack proper support? I'll message the Skype guys, but seriously this is a bad oversight.
If I was asking for integration with some home brew compositor, then fair enough, but Wayland is the giant in the room, and yet Skype still lacks proper support for it. If we can't get proper support on the most popular operating system, then why are efforts being directed to less professional and less popular operating systems?
This isn't some new issue, this is a long-running problem, that's been requested to have a fix for some time, by many people. I can use other tools, but I still have to connect with people who want to use Skype. It's not like I can move to Teams, that application is even more broken than Skype, and it lacks a proper Linux client.
I'll reach out to the Skype team, but this kind of oversight is not a good look from Microsoft.
Thanks

No worries, I tried to raise this point using the link provided but I'm blocked from logging in, and there seems to be no way to contact anyone to figure out why.
Cheers
