3 days spent trying to access my account but Microsoft won't let me

I've been trying to sign in to my Microsoft account for days now, and I've filled in a couple of forms attempting to get it back

When I try to access my account I get this message:

"It looks like someone else might be using your account"

Then it tells me I need to verify that it's my account:

"How do you want to receive your security code?"

I give them my alternate email address, they send me the security code, I enter it

I then have to fill out this "Account Recovery for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***" form:

It's several pages which I fill out to the best of my ability

By the end Microsoft tells me that they'll review the information and see if it's sufficient for me to get my account back, and that they'll email me at my alternate email address within 24 hours with the result

I'd be fine with this, but I wait anxiously for 24 hours and they don't even email me to say "no, you can't have your account back"

I got no response what-so-ever.

So I've filled in another form and have tried again to see if i'll get a response by tomorrow, but it seems like a fruitless task

I'm getting really frustrated, I've had this account for years and have never had any problems before

No one else is using my account, Microsoft has locked me out for seemingly no reason and I can't get back in

If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it, thanks

When I helped a friend of mine to go through this exact same process, the response took until the next day, but the alternate account did receive the message. I'm in the US, but I have no idea if that's a factor.

Good to know, I'm thinking (hoping) maybe my case is just a one-off. Maybe my first request got lost or missed somehow, not sure how but, I guess i'll wait it out and see what happens.

Okay so it's been almost a week of being locked out of my original account.

I filled in the recovery forms and gave really specific information, showing that I'm clearly the owner of the account,

but I receive this email

I can't say I didn't see this coming, but that doesn't make it any less infuriating.

Thanks a lot Microsoft, and no I definitely won't be signing up to outlook/hotmail again after this mess I can assure you.

I'm facing the same problem here, I think the only way to fix this is by calling Microsoft support directly. Although it'll cost you most probably.

When I helped my friend with this same issue, she had to supply information two or three times (apparently it's accumulative) before she supplied enough to verify the account. She received that same message you show twice before she was able to supply enough information. On the final submission, she literally quoted about half of one of the messages she received.
