Primary email not updating on all MS services?

So I've recentlyremoved a primary email from my old MS account, and converted it to my new (this) account. However for some apps and platforms, I'll still see my old email as my user name or whatever - even though I've updated my primary and removed this old email. This is happening in One drive, Bing, and also just general MS login when I can select to email a password reset.

I'm able to log in under my current email, but will still see myself as my old one despite removing it completely.

Dear, JackHC

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with changing your primary email and I know that this is troubling for you and I apologize for the inconvenience.

First of all, to clarify with you, if you deleted your old account that you had previously logged into on certain apps and platforms and added a new account as your primary alias, as per this status, it is recommended that you log out of the apps and platforms altogether and reconnect a bit using the new account. If you still can't change it successfully, there is another reason: the new alias may not have been updated so quickly, so it still shows the old account, we suggest you wait for a few days and try it.

If this is not the case as I understand it, could you please provide a screenshot of the detailed situation? (To protect your privacy, please be careful to cover your account information.)

I hope the above information is helpful to you. I look forward to your reply.

Wish you well

This MAY be the case it's hard to tell if its just delayed or not. But basically I've removed my original email from the account entirely (xx@yahoo), and replaced it with my new email (xx@gmail).

I can use the Gmail account to sign in, and am getting all the relevant information to that address, so that's all fine and has transitioned correctly. But on SOME apps, it keeps my old email displayed even after signing in with the new one. And yes i have made it primary alias and completely removed the old email. For example, Bing app still shows yahoo, but xbox app shows Gmail. OneDrive shows yahoo, but Outlook shows Gmail, etc etc.

Unsure if some apps just haven't registered the change yet? Pictures attached to show different email on display despite both being signed into the same Microsoft account.

Dear JackHC

Thank you for your reply.

According to your description, if Xbox and Outlook have synchronized and updated the account with the new account (Gmail), and OneDrive still shows the old account (Yahoo), we suggest you to log out of OneDrive and log in again, and if it still shows the Yahoo account, we suggest you to wait for a while to see.

If you don't understand or have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you.

Wish you well
