Message Organization Setting Missing from Web App and new Outlook Desktop App

I can no longer access the "Message Organization" settings from the "Layout" section in either the Outlook Web App or the new version of the Desktop App. I am also missing other vital settings such as "Automatic Replies". My first thought was that it is a permissions issue with my organization, but they said that nothing on their end should effect the web app. How can I make these settings visible for myself again?

Hello Natalie K Cvetic-Jones,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps and checking if it makes a difference:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart your browser and try accessing the settings again.

  2. Try accessing the settings from a different browser or device to see if the issue is specific to your current browser or device.

  3. Uninstall your Outlook and install it again:

    To uninstall new Outlook:

    1. From the Start menu, select New Outlook for Windows.

    2. Select the arrow to expand the list option in Start.

    3. Select Uninstall to begin the uninstall process.

    To reinstall the new Outlook:

    1. Open classic Outlook for Windows.

    2. In the top corner, you'll see a toggle to Try the new Outlook  New Outlook for Windows toggle.

    3. Select this toggle to download the new app and you will switch to the new Outlook for Windows.

If the issue persists I advise reaching back again to your admin/IT to open a service request in the Microsoft 365 admin center. If they did not change this feature then it might be some back-end issue since it is affecting both web and Windows versions of Outlook. Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn. The support team there has access to check this issue from the back end.

We look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your time. Have a good day!

Sincerely

Simbarashe | Community Moderator
