"Like" button in Outlook disabled for some Clients

Hello all,

I do outsourced IT for various clients. One of our Tenants in O365 is currently experiencing an issue where the "Like" button in Outlook Web has been removed for some users. I've created 2 test accounts under their tenant and both of those accounts have the "Like" button. I remoted into the computer of the user who reported the issue and logged into Outlook Web, went to Settings -> Mail -> Customize Actions and surprisingly the "Like" option was nowhere to be found for this individual.

This is the first I've seen time I've seen this. How can I re-enable this feature for them?

Hello Cody,

Good day! Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand the Like button is missing for some users in Outlook on the Web. Please correct me if I am wrong.

While I was doing my research testing, I realized the like button is now under the emoji icon in the latest version of Outlook on the web, meaning we no longer have the traditional like button but the emoji like button as shown in the screenshot below.

When enabling the like button in the settings you just need to select the emoji icon and like will be enabled. This article is still applicable only that the like button is in the form of an emoji. Like an email message in Outlook on the web (microsoft.com)

However, if the like button is still missing in the settings above, kindly try the following troubleshooting steps and let me know the result for troubleshooting.

  1. Advise the user to check on a different web browser or log in via private/incognito mode if they can find the like button.

  2. Clear browser cache: for Microsoft Edge see How to Clear Your Cache - Microsoft 365, for Chrome check this link from Google link.

Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. I will continue to assist you based on the information you provide.

We are looking forward to your reply. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
