Hello! jimmy zwartjens

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I understand that you're having trouble accessing your email account and resetting your password. If Microsoft has denied your request to reset your password, it's possible that they were not able to verify your identity.

I would like to inform you at the beginning that Microsoft account recovery is managed by a completely automated server, and we do not have manual access to it. Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously. We are committed to protecting your personal information, and the meticulous account recovery process is intended to protect you from any possible malicious activity. For now, please allow me to do the best I can to help you with the process

Allow me to ask:

  1. What error message are you getting?

  2. When was the last time you were able to logged into the account?

  3. Do you have any security methods added in the account? Such as phone number or email address?

  4. Have you tried resetting the password with/without the use of security methods? or filling out the Account Recovery Form?

However, there are a few things you can try to prove that you are the rightful owner of the account:

Reset password:

1. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page: https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx

2. Enter your email address and click on "Next".

3. Select the option "I don't have any of these" if you are asked to verify your identity using your phone number. (if you still have access to the phone number/email address for verifying your ownership please use it.)

4. Follow the prompts to verify your identity using other methods such as your alternate email address or security questions.

5. Once you have verified your identity, you will be able to reset your password and regain access to your account.

Account Recovery Form:

You can use this link to recover the mentioned account: Help with the Microsoft Account Recovery Form - Microsoft Support

please provide a lot of information you can, as this will be validated by the automated server to match the information the account that you are trying to recover. Please do not leave any box unfilled, provide at least a minimum of truthful information.

Hello! jimmy zwartjens

Thank you for the reply!

Just to let you know that we can only guide you on how to regain access back into your account using the forms and other means of recovering the account. As we cannot manually change any information in the account since this is handled by an automated server in which we do not have any manual access to this.

Yes I would suggest to do something first with your alternative email if this is connected to your email account as this is where the reset password will be sent to after filling out the Account recovery Form or you can use another alternative email address for receiving the password link.

If you are going to use another email address for receiving the password, you can use again the Account Recovery Form again to fill out the information needed:

please provide a lot of information you can, as this will be validated by the automated server to match the information the account that you are trying to recover. Please do not leave any box unfilled, provide at least a minimum of truthful information.

If you haven't tried the reset password with/without the use of the email address or phone number. You can use the steps provided:

Reset password:

1. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page: https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx

2. Enter your email address and click on "Next".

3. Select the option "I don't have any of these" if you are asked to verify your identity using your phone number. (if you still have access to the phone number/email address for verifying your ownership please use it.)

4. Follow the prompts to verify your identity using other methods such as your alternate email address or security questions.

5. Once you have verified your identity, you will be able to reset your password and regain access to your account.
