How can I remove email address on file.

I am completely stuck, cannot find out who can help me and I am losing my mind...

The email address associated with my Microsoft email account is an old college email that is completely gone and removed. I have the microsoft authenticator app installed and connected, my other email address and phone number on file, but CANNOT verify my old email address thats associated with the account.

How can i have that email address completely removed or changed from my account when I cannot verify that old email.

***moved from Microsoft 365 and Office / Subscription, account, billing / For home / Other***

Dear Alex Schnese

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Microsoft account not being able to change your email address, and I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you.

As we are not yet able to determine the main reason why you are experiencing this situation, we would like to confirm the following information with you:

1. is your account (Microsoft account/school email) still logged in properly?

2. whether the Microsoft Authenticator you added can be verified?

3. the other emails and phone numbers you mentioned were added to the Microsoft email?

You can try to log into this link: Microsoft account | Sign in or create your account today - Microsoft ,after you enter your account, click My Profile in the upper right corner, you will enter the next window, you can make changes, but you need to verify your identity before you can make changes, you can try again by clicking “More Authentication Information”.

If the added Microsoft Authenticator/other emails/phone numbers are unable to authenticate your identity because the authentication information for the primary account (university email) or the university email setup as a Microsoft account has been deleted and you are unable to log in to your account, it may not be possible to assist you in deleting or changing that email address.Microsoft takes account security and privacy very seriously, and the meticulous account recovery process is designed to protect customers' personal information from malicious activity.

For your needs, we recommend that you try contacting your school IT teacher to see if you can get your old school email temporarily turned on. The exact process, we are not able to access it in the Microsoft community.

If this is not the case as I understand it, could you please tell us the details of the situation, of course it would be better if you have a screenshot.

I hope the above information is helpful to you. Looking forward to your reply.

May you be well.
