Hello James Moore7,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community.

To address this issue, I have compiled a set of potential solutions and workarounds that aim to resolve the problem. These steps cover a range of common causes and should help you regain access to your emails.

Disabling browser extensions is another effective method for troubleshooting a 400 Bad Request error. Although extensions enhance browser functionality, they can sometimes conflict with certain websites, leading to errors.

Moreover, some extensions interact directly with cookies or other site data. Malfunctions or outdated versions of these extensions can trigger a 400 error.

For Chrome users, here are the steps to deactivate browser extensions:

  1. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Extensions.

  2. You will see a list of all installed extensions. Turn off each extension by clicking on the toggle switch beside it.

3. After turning off all extensions, refresh the web page that was displaying the 400 error. If the page loads correctly, this suggests that one of the extensions was causing the problem.

4. Re-enable the extensions one by one, refreshing the page after each activation. If the 400 error reoccurs, the most recently enabled extension is likely responsible.

5. Try updating the problematic extension to see if it resolves the issue. If the problem continues, you may need to remove the extension by clicking the Remove button.

Additionally, the "Bad Request" error message can be an email account issue or a server issue. Let us isolate your concern by checking the status of your account in the Service Portal. If the issue persists even if the service status says"Everything is up and running"kindly use other devices to log in to your account.

If disabling browser extensions does not resolve the issue, we recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft. The issue may be due to a more complex problem that requires deeper investigation by our support team. By opening a ticket, our experts can look into your specific account and configuration to identify any underlying issues that may not be apparent through standard troubleshooting steps.

  • Go to the Microsoft Support Page.

  • Sign in with your Microsoft account.

  • Navigate to the Outlook support section and select the option to open a new ticket.

  • Provide detailed information about the issue, including the steps you have already taken.

By opening a support ticket, you enable our dedicated support team to provide a more tailored and in-depth solution, ensuring that we can resolve the issue effectively.

Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Looking forward to your response and have a great day ahead!!

Sincerely,

Microsoft Community Moderator
