Failure to send email code 9932

While using Outlook, my IMAP account receives email just fine, but my outgoing mail does not get received. The last failure code was 9932. I've worked with my host service, my internet provider...they cannot solve it. I have the same problem on all my devices...phone, laptop, iPad, desktop.

Not sure how to do this. And what other problems could this cause. Jan

Oct 27th 2024 and this is still a problem! I was forced to use the New Outlook as was using Mail. Now can't send mail (was working OK for a week) and only way to access my whole calendar is to sign into my old outlook account every time as only pat of it has transferred over to New Outlook.

How do I revert to the old mail please?

Your solution #4 with a few tweaks, worked for me!

New Outlook for Windows 10/11;  RECEIVE EMAILS BUT CAN’T SEND EMAILS

Like many, I was forced out of the Windows Mail program and into the NEW Outlook email/calendar program.  Like many, Outlook(new) could receive emails but wouldn’t send emails.  I spent many hours over a couple of months trying to get Outlook(new) to send emails.  I read all the forums I could find.

Finally, the solution for me, was to delete the existing email account in Outlook(new), and then, add it back.  BTW, my email provider is Earthlink.net and I use a POP account with email copies left on the server.

Before you start this process have a paper copy of the email setup parameters for your email provider, AND, the password for your email account.  (I know, it’s been 5+ years since you set up the original account)  Anyway, you need to make sure you have the correct password.

To delete an existing email account, open Outlook(new) and - Goto Settings (Cogwheel symbol top, right side), Email Accounts, click Manage right-click the the affected email and choose Remove.  Restart Outlook.

Now when you open Outlook(new), it will start a fill-in-the-blanks set up program to connect to your email server.  So fill in the blanks using your provider’s recommended settings.  Along the way, uncheck “Use Recommend Settings”.   I found if I used Recommended Settings, it filled in the wrong port number…..Port 110 instead of the correct port, 995.  Make sure the port numbers and security settings are correct.  On my account,

the incoming server used SSL/TLS and, the outgoing server used STARTTLS.  I didn’t sync with Microsoft Cloud because I don’t use it.

I won’t go over every step but just keep hitting “Continue” until everything is correctly filled in and the setup program will automatically connect to your email server.

Hopefully everything works out and you now start sending email from Outlook(new).

Like many, I struggled with making Outlook(new) work on my Windows 11 PC. I spent many hours. Finally, the solution, which was buried in some of the feedback, that worked for me was to delete the email account from Outlook(new) and reset it up. Here's what worked for me.

New Outlook for Windows 10/11;  RECEIVE EMAILS BUT CAN’T SEND EMAILS

Like many, I was forced out of the Windows Mail program and into the NEW Outlook email/calendar program.  Like many, Outlook(new) there was a problem that prevented it from working.  You could receive emails but couldn’t send emails.  You also couldn’t fall back to the old Mail program.  I spent many hours over a couple of months trying to get Outlook(new) to send emails.  I read all the forums I could find.  Luckily, the Windows PC was my backup computer and I used my trusty Mac for emails.

Finally, the solution for me, was to delete the existing email account in Outlook(new), and then, add it back.  BTW, my email provider is Earthlink.net and I use a POP account with email copies left on the server.

To delete an existing email account, open Outlook(new) and - Goto Settings (Cogwheel symbol top, right), Email Accounts, click Manage right-click the the affected email account, and choose Remove.  Close and restart Outlook.
