Can't login Outlook.com and Office365

The account.live link only takes me to my account overview.  I am also able to log into skydrive.live, but as soon as I use the link to go to my mail fromthere, it takes me to a screen that says....

"You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account)."

It is the same screen I have been seeing for weeks.

Hello blackEyedNL,

It is possible that some cached data on your computer is causing this issue. I recommend that you optimize your browser, clear browser's cache and a temporary internet file to make sure that your browser’s setting doesn’t contribute to your issue. If you’re using Internet Explorer browser, please check this article for instructions:

How to Optimize Internet Browser

You may also need to reset the browser that you are using. Kindly go to this link for instructions.

If you are using Internet Explorer, you can also try using InPrivate browser. Follow the steps below:

  1. Launch Internet Explorer.
  2. On Tools, (if ever you are not seeing Tools, press Alt) choose InPrivate Browsing.

Note: Keyboard shortcut - CTRL+SHIFT+P

If you are not using Internet Explorer, I would suggest that you go to your browser's support website.

Do not hesitate to respond to this post if in case the issue still persist after doing the troubleshooting steps provided above.

Thank you.

From several forums I learn this is not the solution. I tried it and I get the same errors.

The problem is having the same account in Office365 as Outlook.com.

Can you please remove my Office365-account completely.

Thanks,

Richard

Hi blackEyedNL,

Please be informed that it is stated on the article, http://community.office365.com/en-us/wikis/exchange/2314.aspx , “There is a known issue if user is logging into Office 365 mailbox via OWA and their personal mailbox on outlook.com preview using THE SAME BROWSER”. This issue will be fixed. This is because currently Office 365 and Personal accounts share the same Microsoft Account authentication cookie. Workaround is to login to your personal account first and then login to Office 365.

On the scenario you provided, you're trying to login to Outlook.com with your Office 365 account and gave you an error “This account can't be used to access Outlook.com”. This is something that will not be fixed, to login to Office 365 account users must either go to their own custom Office 365 URL or go to Outlook.com/domain, for example http://mail.office365.com

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

http://mail.office365.com gives me a redirect error and http://www.outlook.com gives a can't login error. Each address used on different browsers on a PC I never used before. For both I use the same login name and password, which do work on for instance http://www.skydrive.com.

Kind regards,

Richard

I had a similar problem .... and after many wasted emails to support I found I had to go back into my Office365 preview account, set my main domain to be onmicrosoft and then delete my own domain. As soon as I did this I was able to log in outlook.com.
