Cant edit signature.

I am trying to edit my signature on email and know exactly where to go, how to do it. However, when reaching the necessary screen, it is basically blank.

Have tried via:

  • Cog at top right of email

  • Reached "account" section

Tried another way:

  • Composing a new email

  • Selecting a premade signature to test if they land on the email (this is ok, it works)

  • Selecting "Signatures" (this doesn't work, it leads to the screenshot here which is blank)

Then tried all the options and there's nothing that says "signatures" as there were before. So I cant change them. There should be stuff in the black area of the box on the attached screen shot, ie the signatures to change.

Hello Karl with Questions,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out and providing details about the issue you're facing.

I understand how frustrating it can be when features like editing signatures, which should be straightforward, don't function as expected.
From your description and the screenshot provided, it seems you're encountering a problem in the Outlook on the web interface where the "Signatures" section is blank or inaccessible, preventing you from editing or managing your email signatures.
I've reviewed similar cases, and this appears to be a common issue in the Outlook on the web interface. The problem might stem from a configuration issue or a glitch in the interfaceor browser issue.

Here are steps you can try to resolve or work around the issue:

I tested on my side and everything is working fine. I can edit signatures. see screenshot. Switch to outlook app and see if issue persist

Use the New Outlook App:
try editing your signatures directly in New OutlookApp:

  • Log in to your email account via a browser.

  • Go to Settings (cog icon) > View all Outlook settings > Accounts > Signature.

  • Edit your signatures here.

Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

  1. Open your browser’s settings (e.g., in Chrome, click the three dots in the top-right corner and go to Settings > Privacy and Security).

  2. Locate the option to Clear Browsing Data or Clear Cache and Cookies.

  3. Ensure the following options are selected:

    • Cookies and other site data.

    • Cached images and files.

  1. Click Clear Data.

  2. Restart your browser and log back into Outlook on the web to check if the signature settings are working.

Use a Different Browser or Incognito Mode

Open an alternative browser (e.g., EdgeFirefox, or Safari) or open a private/incognito tab in your current browser.

  • In Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N.

  • In Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + P.

  • Log in to Outlook on the web and navigate to Settings (Cog Icon) > View All Outlook Settings > Accounts >signature

  • Check if the issue persists.

Update Your Browser

Make sure your browser is up to date:

  • In Chrome: Go to Settings > About Chrome and let it check for updates.

  • In Edge: Go to Settings > About Microsoft Edge.

  1. Install updates if available and restart the browser.

  2. Log in to Outlook on the web and test again.

Check for Conflicting Browser Extensions

Disable any ad-blockers, privacy extensions, or other add-ons that might interfere with web applications:

  • In Chrome: Go to Settings > Extensions and toggle off the extensions.

  • In Edge: Go to Settings > Extensions and disable them.

Reload Outlook on the web and check the signature settings.

Report the Issue

If none of the above steps work, this could be a temporary server issue. Report it as follows:

  1. Open Outlook on the web.

  2. Click the Help (Question Mark) icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Feedback.

  4. Describe the issue in detail:

    • Mention that the signature settings appear blank and attach the screenshot you provided for clarity.

Submit the report.

Contact Admin or IT Support

If this is part of a business account managed by an IT admin:

  1. Report the issue to your IT team.

  2. Ask them to verify that the organization’s policies or settings haven’t restricted signature editing.

After trying these solutions, let us know if the problem persists, and we can explore further troubleshooting. Your feedback is crucial to resolving this issue efficiently.

Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I appreciate your patience and understanding, and thank you for your time and cooperation. Have a nice day!

I'm tried from multiple browsers and see the same behavior where signatures simply do not appear as an option under Account settings.

Can confirm that I am able to add/use signatures from the Desktop app, but these do not appear or sync with the web app.

Hi,

Thank you for your kind and detailed response. I have tried literally everything above and nothing works. The things I have tried so far are:

1. logged in incognito

2. Logged in website on ifone

3. Checked for conflicting apps, there are none active

3. Logged in on the new outlook app and tried same

I cannot see any question marks at "top right" for reporting it either anywhere.

One thing that have noticed, which may or may not be relevant is this:

outlook.live.com = signatures seem to work here (using another account)

outlook.office.com = the area to change or add new signatures is totally blank

There are so many titles, layers, apps, login paths. Microsoft is a complete mess. Please help me to fathom this.
