Archiving IMAP Folders on Outlook 2010

I am struggling to archive my IMAP folders on outlook 2010 to bring the size of my working outlook file down and improve the replication process with my email account. The folders are created in the archive but no email messages are moved. Any suggestions

Answer

I'm not sure that archiving works for IMAP folders, but if it does, it works based on the Modified dates on the messages, not on the Received dates.  Add the Modified column to your view and see if that tells you why the messages aren't being archived.

That said, you can always manually move the messages to a local data file.  If you're doing that, though, you might as well switch to accessing your mailbox via POP.  The whole reason for IMAP is to allow messages to remain on the server.
