The "Smart Lookup" (define) is missing from the right click menu in Microsoft Word (O365) V 1911

I'm trying to understand how the "Smart Lookup" (define) is missing from the right click menu in Microsoft Word (O365) V 1911. It was definitely there at one point but now has been missing for months. I can see synonyms and translate but I do not have the ability to get the definition of a word from the right click menu. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Hi Matt,

Is it not showing up?

Workaround:
If you have something selected, you can access Smart Lookup from the search box by typing in Smart Lookup.

If it is not showing up in the menu, ...
One document or all?
Misspelled words or all words?
Does it happen if you open Word in Safe mode?

Safe mode is not a way to regularly use Word, but it is a valuable diagnostic step. If your problem goes away when you use Safe mode, we can walk you through other steps that may help eliminate the problem. Please write back.

All documents do not show the "Smart lookup".

Yes, it is also showing in safe mode.

Here is screen shot.

Your help is greatly appreciated, from a person who is really challenged by spelling! :-)

Your installation appears to be behind on updates. Click File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Stefan,

I understand that your recommendation is to, go to the default answer for most support tickets and requests for assistance and that it to perform ALL updates on your OS and all Microsoft software packages installed on your PC, but I'm on a work PC and don't have that luxury of performing updates. I'm on the Dec 2019 version (build below) and above Microsoft's semi-annual version.

2019 December 10 Version 1911 (Build 12228.20364)

So do think there is any other way to bring the "Smart Lookup" back?

Since you are using a work computer and, presumably, a business version of Office, you shouldn't have picked the "Microsoft 365 Family" category in this forum.

Obviously, I wouldn't have suggested an update if I had known that you couldn't update.
