Phonetic keyboard with the font Latha (for Tamil).

How can I use a phonetic keyboard with the font Latha (for Tamil)?  

I know there are third party plug-ins to do that, but I hear there is a way to do that in Microsoft Office itself.

To use the Latha font with the phonetic keyboard, you will have to first enable the keyboard layout from the Regional & Language options in the Control Panel.

You may refer the article on how to enable keyboard layouts for different languages and see if that helps.
