Thanks but none of these solutions seem to apply.
The video is MP4. It plays in Quicktime on my laptop. The thumbnail shows on OneDrive but the video will not play.
I have tried trimming the video down to 10 MB because I thought the size was the problem but it will still not play...

Thanks but:
1. It's a home video and there are are no digital rights on it
2. It is Mp4 - the most recognisable video type(?)
3. The exact same file plays from my OneDrive back up (external drive) it just will not play from OneDrive web.

Thanks - so in terms of consumer protection, I've purchased a 1TB plan that doesn't do what it says it should do?

Hi Michael,
Based on your description, you cannot play the video whose format is .mp4 in OneDrive for Business. I suggest you check the following:
1. Open OneDrive for Business in other browsers to play the video, such as IE, Chrome, or Firefox.
2. Try playing the .mp4 video in the classic view.
a. Open OneDrive for Business in IE browser.
b. Click Return to classic OneDrive on the lower left corner and open the mp4 video.
c. You may be prompted to install Silverlight, click Install.
d. After installing it, check if the videos could be played properly.
For more information about video formats you may refer this article.
Meanwhile, if issue still persist, we want to confirm are you using OneDrive personal or OneDrive for business on your Mac and screenshot of your error message. And confirm if this issue occurs to other all the .mp4 videos.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
Best Regards,
Waqas Muhammad
