Where are the registry settings to uncheck Skype for Business saving IM conversations and call logs to history folder
Answer
Answer

Hi Emerico,

Thank you for your post. From the screenshot you have provided the Save IM and Save Call logs to conversation history folder option in Skype for Business client is grayed out. Your admin might have disabled these settings on this user or the entire organization by means of a policy (Set-CsClientPolicy). Please involve your admin to check this policy in Skype for Business PowerShell.

Admin should connect first to connect to Skype for Business PowerShell.

To check the csclient policy assigned to user, we can run:

Get-csonlineuser *** Email address is removed for privacy *** | select sipaddress,clientpolicy

To revert the policy back to the default one (in which the options are not greyed out), we can run:

grant-csclientpolicy -identity *** Email address is removed for privacy *** -policyname $Null

After the policy has been disabled and still these settings are checked on this client, please provide the following information:

1.)The detailed version of Skype for Business. (Help > About Skype for Business)

2.)The type of email setup on Outlook client (POP3 ,IMAP, Exchange).

3.) Does the grayed out setting only occurs on your account? Check if other colleagues account can disable these settings.

Looking forward to your updates.

Best Regards,

Ruel
