Can't add Notes to phone Home Screen after Oreo update!

I need to gather additional information to have a better view of this concern. Kindly answer the following questions:

• Can you describe the issue you are experiencing when using Office apps on your device? A screenshot would be helpful as well. The instructions on how to insert screenshots in your post are posted in this link. Note: Please do not include any personal information.
• Does the issue happen to a different app?

Please reply with the information so I can further assist you.

1) I open the OneNote app on my Note 8 phone;

2) I select a note that I want to place a shortcut for on the phone home screen;

3) I click the three dots;

4) I select "Add to Home Screen";

5) I receive "Can't add to Home screen" message.

I tried several different notes; all had the same result!

The issue might also be related to the device itself since it happened after you updated it. However, before we consider that, have you tried adding a different note to your device's home screen? If so, does the issue occur? In addition, if you have a different app that you can use to take notes, I advise adding it to the home screen and see if you will still experience the same issue. I also suggest checking if there are updates available for the OneNote app, if so, please update it. If that doesn't work, then the issue might be with the device itself.
