Hi Michael,

Do you want to increase the Virtual memory?

If you want to increase the size of Video Memory, you need to know which graphics card is present in your computer. Check manual or order details of your computer.

To increase Virtual memory, you can check the steps in the following link for Windows 7 and try the same steps in Windows 10 and it should work.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/change-virtual-memory-size#1TC=windows-7

To increase Intel HD Graphics Dedicated video memory, click on the following link and go through the steps.

Reply with your system model or graphics card model so that other community members can also help you.

Thanks & Regards,

Rickey

If you have no joy with holding down the escape key to gain access to your bios HP recommends the following:

Restart your laptop and hold down F1 or F10 - HP recently changed from Esc key to the F10 key ;)

(I also use a HP Envy Recline 23-K080EA and it is F10 to enter the BIOS).

Here is the HP support Link with :

http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c00034791

It also gives step by step guide to UEFI (included below - just in case anyone else is stuck with similar models).

  • Pre-UEFI, before 2008 for most models.
With the computer turned Off, press the power button to turn On the computer, and repeatedly press the F10 key. Normally, the Compaq or HP splash screen will display a message to press F10 to enter the BIOS just before the BIOS menu is displayed.
  • UEFI Enabled, 2008 to mid 2011 for most models.
If the computer has the UEFI pre-BIOS environment, when the Compaq or HP splash screen displays, you are prompted to press Escape to enter Start Up Menu. Then there is a prompt to press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.
Because of the different types of CPUs and BIOS configurations, it may be possible to turn On the power and press F10 for the BIOS without going through the UEFI Start Up Menu.
  • Shortened Startup without splash screen, mid-2011 or later for most models.
To help computers start faster, on some models the Compaq or HP splash screen is not displayed during the start up process. In this case, after pressing the power button, repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Start Up Menu, and follow the prompt to press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.

Why all you need is 1 GB vram on the GPU for 1080p in most games and no more than that for anything else outside of 4K or editing if your APU  has 512 GB it *should*  reserve at least 1 GB for the GPU pipe .

OTOH i don't know what your APU has probably a lot less than I GB .

IGPU/APU v ram + system ram sucks for gaming it's fine for HD video though .

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it !

Leave it alone and let windows manage  it you only need to adjust it (sometimes) if you have like 1 or 2 GB of ram and Windows 10 10586 has a much faster compressed ram page file anyway so the virtual memory size is best managed by Windows even if you are ruining Windows 7 x64 with 8 GB ram .
