Does Microsoft actually listen to users?

I really have to ask this. As an Insider member of the XBox One Preview program, and owner of an XBox One X, I really have to ask if Microsoft actually are listening to us users? Several times,  I have sent both report of problems or "bugs", and even mentioned on xbox.uservoice.com in several threats what need to be done to improve things. I will list them up here. It's up to the admins how they want to inform Microsoft...Ok, here we go...

1. Latest XBox One Preview shows a "misleading" information in the video settings, claiming that a TV like my Samsung SUHD JS8505 48" inches TV, doesn't support 4k at 60Hz for XBox One X Enhanced games. This is ironic, because all marks are coloured GREEN, meaning that my TV (2015-model upgraded with latest Firmware version 1510) DOES support both 4k and HDR at 24Hz, 50Hz and 60Hz. My TV is connected directly to HDMI Port 1 in the One Connect Mini Box. UHD HDMI Color is ACTIVE. So everything is right!

2. Now we get to the very important issue. Game DVR has been improved yes, and you can record Game DVR in 4k HDR at 60fps, even from external HDD up to 1h, but HERE is the problem. Currently, you CANNOT edit Game DVR stored on external HDD in Upload Studio, nor share it with Facebook, OneDrive, Twitter or XBox Live. Most of us want to edit Game DVRs stored on external HDD in Upload Studio, as this is the most straightforward, easiest and most impressive video editing app for XBox. It's only natural that external Game DVRs should be edited in Upload Studio as well. Having the Game DVRs up to 1h edited in Upload Studio should be fairly easy, and what isn't easier to do that from external HDD? Something to seriously think about...

3. The new UI feels very much incomplete and "pain-in-the-****" for many of us users. It seems that this new UI was FORCED upon us, rather than ASKED FOR. Why not have the option of choosing different UI made for XBox? All made for the best of XBox One, of course? This would really improve things...

I really think Microsoft should seriously start listening to us users, rather than getting crazy ideas that only appear embarrashing...

Hello HKvalhe,

Yes Microsoft definitely listens to the users, that is how we are able to launch builds to the public with little to no issues because of great feedback and reports from people like you. Sending a report of an issue on your console is just one part though. If you have an issue, after you report i on your console mention it here or tell us in preview chat; so, we can bug it if needed.

Second, your feedback for issues is best placed here: https://xbox.uservoice.com/ It's where you can create suggestions where others can vote and comment on yours, or you can vote and comment on others that you would like to see. Our development teams review and consider the suggestions there to make improvements.

Ask yourself this question. If Microsoft truly are listening to the users, don't you think they would respond to users as quickly as possible, trying to make us users as happy and satisfied as possible? I think they would, but this hasn't always been the case. The new UI system is NOT something we wanted on XBox One, and it's still far from fully completed and lack several very important features.

As pointed out several times, also on xbox.uservoice.com, Upload Studio SHOULD be updated to be able to edit 4k HDR Game DVR from external HDD connected to XBox One X, up to 1 hour, and be able to share that with Facebook, OneDrive, Twitter, YouTube and XBox Live. All this should be fairly simple to support, so I suggest Microsoft do that now, and really start listening to the users completely, instead of fooling around...

I'm sorry to say this, but this is simply not good enough.

I'm on the same path what is the point in designing the x to put up with the speed and performance of these messed up dashboard not once have Microsoft listened this year mixer should not be a dashboard heading the hole dashboard seem cluttered.

The X should be showing a better performance boost but it do's not it's evidenced on the x now.

When the X boots up to the processor boot screen the x will ever go through this perfect or it will glitch out and make the console reboot.

and when i am at it about the X should the casing of the console looks like at the back that the casing has even been forced on or it has warped and i would like to now what Microsoft are willing to do about this.

we need Microsoft to be more open and actually tell use what exactly is planned for the console/s instead of going we will update this and seed how the community likes it i am not being funny it should not be like that we have the the resources on console for Microsoft to poll what feature we would like to see not the other way round.

And Microsoft we would like you to use are hard earned cash to actually purchase the exclusive what made Xbox 360 the console it is today you have lost your way big time

and at least have a month worth of bug squashing instead of adding new feature for those new feature to be impacted on bug Microsoft failed to squash  like i am adamant there is a network issue with in the console software not hardware

bloomin hell the wireless has better download speeds then Ethernet so this say's it all the Ethernet port has issues.

You sure couldn't tell from the half baked UI we have to deal with. We've been complaining for months and all we get is crickets. Horribly poor effort from MS to provide any feedback to the people who actually take the time to offer their suggestions to help improve this disgusting mess. Having to push more buttons and bumpers to get where you need to go is just one of many examples as how screwed up this UI is. Less is more. K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid seems to be the first thing this team forgot.

Can anyone from MS explain to me why they can't even get their own "premier browser" to work properly on this console? Edge continually locks ups or 80% of the time will open 2, 3 or sometimes 4 extra tabs when clicking on a link from an article I may be reading.  You guys should be downright embarrassed how pathetically bad this is.

I'm an original XBOX launch day buyer from November 2001 and same thing with the Xbox 360 in November 2005 and the Xbox One in November 2013. Seeing the great strides the Xbox 360 made gave me such hope for the future of gaming with Xbox but this generation has been one of abject failure with disappointment after disappointment. You've had 4 years to turn this thing around but it's always 1 step forward and then 3 steps backwards.

I'm at the point of giving up on MS and Xbox altogether.

The quality of everything this generation has gone down significantly be it the Xbox Live service or the poor build quality of the Kinect or the Xbox One controllers. My Day One controller quit working after 4 months. Bought another controller that developed issues with the left stick after 3 months. Bought an Elite controller on it's launch day figuring it had to be better. I am now on my 3rd Elite controller. My first Elite succumbed to the infamous peeling rubber grips. The grips on the second Elite were starting to peel and the left bumper just fell out as I was using it one day. My 3rd Elite is okay for now but I have no confidence it will continue to do so. The original Xbox and the 360's controllers were never a problem. Their build quality was far superior compared to what we have now.  I almost feel like an idiot for sticking with the Xbox as I feel MS simply doesn't care about it's customers the way it used to when it first got into the console business.

Everything regarding Xbox One feels like it's half baked and their is no real focus on a quality user experience. Such a shame.

Exactly my point, Sonydan12k! Only the last year, they didn't quite listen to us users, except what we expected from XBox One X. The new console is really amazing, but the new UI and the lack of the right improvements where we want them, are just embarrashing! We didn't even ask for the new UI. We certainly didn't want the new UI THIS way it turnt out to be. Microsoft really need to pull themselves together and seriously start listening! They don't have all the answers themselves, and many times we users know better what we want. That goes for listening properly as well. This has been said over and over again, so now it's really time for them to do that!
