Unfortunately there's currently no way to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 for free anymore, unless you have purchased Windows 10 or 11 license already. Even if you have license, you cannot skip Windows 10 and upgrade directly from 7/8.1 to 11.
If your computer is from the Windows 7 era, chance is, it is not going to meet the Windows 11 requirements. You can start by checking the CPU first, see if it is even listed among these lists:
