Teclast tbook restore dual boot menu

"Teclast tbook 16 power" after windows updates, the dual boot menu gone. How to restore the dual boot menu and boot into android. Thanks.

Hi Daniel,

There might have been some corrupted system files during the installation of the update that could have cause this. Let's work around with this. Press Window key + S and type Command Prompt. Right-click the result and select Run as administrator. Type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes and press Enter. Restart your device afterwards.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi John,

It doesn't work. After bcdedit command, it shows menu with "windows 10" only. This menu is not the same as original OS switcher between Android and Windows. Thanks.

regards,

daniel lam

Got it. Let's check if switching it from System Properties will do the trick. Press Windows key + X and select System > Advanced system settings > Advanced tab > Settings > System startup. Check the drop-down menu if Android is listed. Select it and press OK > Apply > OK. When you restart, dual boot option should be back.

Hey John, thanks for your input.

I am searching for workaround as well - same situation, same symptoms ..

And solution you have came up, haven't solve the issue. No other OS can be chosen from, but Windows 10.

Still I think this is issue of manufacturer, their boot record seems to be corrupted after installing Creators update.

Thanks.

Hi,

You may be right. If all these workarounds will not solve the issue, reinstalling the Android OS may be the last resort. It will be best to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

Best regards.

Goran's zip file in this thread fixed it for me:

https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/tbook-16-power-no-os-selection-screen-on-boot/

Unzip it, run the exe then just check enable when the program starts.  When you reboot the tablet (via the power button), your OS selection screen should appear.
