Microsoft print to PDF

I was glad to see this new option with Windows 10.  I have sucessfully used the feature to print anything to .pdf files. Easy to direct where I want to save the files...all of a sudden now when I print to .pdf and save in my file, the new .pdf is showing 0KB and the document won't open - Adobe kicks in and says it can not open the file.  What has changed?  is there a fix to get it working again?

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the computer. I understand the frustration when things don't work the way it should.

Method 1: Perform a sfc scan on the computer to check if there are any corruptions on the computer. Please follow the below link to perform a sfc scan on the computer.

Method 2: Try to perform a DISM commands on the computer. Please follow the below link to know how to perform DISM in Windows.

Typical non-answer. No one's got time for that. Easier (not to mention better product) to download a free third-party app that actually works.  Pitiful, just pitiful.

I agree - Microsoft, you are acting like the only game in town word processing vendor, which is pretty much true, by telling customers "do a lot of work and maybe that will fix the problem" and implicitly saying "we are not going to bother to identify or fix it ourselves."

Hey Larry,

just faced the same issue on win10. Did not solve it but found a different way:.

Go to:

File-> Export-> Create PDF

Worked for me...

I had a similar problem. The files created by Microsoft Print to PDF would not open in Adobe Read DC. I got a message that the files were possibly corrupt. The fix is here:

THis requires creating a new registry entry to be more tolerant of the format created by Print to PDF.

I had a similar issue, where PDF files created with the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer were corrupt and only 0KB in size, so basically empty. It seems in my case it's solved when I don't use comma's in the name of the file.
