Can't login after Windows 10 reset

Try restarting a few times then try again.

Try disconnecting from the Internet and try again.

If that does not work, reboot in Safe Mode then try signing in.

At the sign in screen:
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen.
Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart.
Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears.
Click Troubleshoot
Click Advanced options
Click Startup Settings
Click Restart
Press (4) to Enable Safe Mode
Wait while Windows 10 starts in safe mode.
Log in

Other things you can try - enable to built in Administrator account:

Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen.
Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart.
Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears.
Click Troubleshoot
Click Advanced options
Click Command Prompt

At the command prompt, type:
net user administrator /active:yes

Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

Try signing in again.

Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen.
Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart.
Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears.
Click Troubleshoot
Click Advanced options
Click Startup repair the follow the on screen instructions.
When complete, restart.
Try signing in again.

Change password
Open Control Panel - see how to find control panel:

Open User Accounts
Click Manage another account
Select the other account
CLick Change the password

Enter the password
Confirm the new password

Type a hint

Click Change password

or

Open Start, type: CMD
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator

Type: net user
Hit Enter

This should reveal your account name

Type: net user YOURACCOUNTNAME *

Hit Enter

Type a new password for the account then hit Enter.

If none of the above work...

Go to a working computer, download, create a bootable copy, then perform a clean install.

1) Internet is not connected. This was a reinstallation of Windows so no user/internet connections should be in memory. Can't login to connect. I've booted into Safe mode and cannot perform any tasks as advised. I opened task manager to Switch User and get a sihost.exe system warning of Unknown Hard Error.

I manage to open task manager to change password but it still comes up with account disabled on login screen.

2) Followed as instructed. Administrator account still disabled.

3) Tried Start Up Repair... Couldn't repair your pc message. Gives option to restart.

Cannot do any of the other suggestions as I cannot get past the login screen. This is the problem.

Power on, it will then your computer will boot into the Advanced Recovery environment

You might be asked to sign in with your Microsoft Account or Local Account password.

Click Advanced Options
Click Troubleshoot
Click Advanced Options

Click System Restore, see if you can go back to an earlier time.

If not, boot into the recovery environment again, then try performing a startup repair.

If that does not work, boot into the recovery environment, then click 'Go back to previous version of Windows'

If that does not work.

Power on and off your computer three times
On the third time, your computer will boot into the Advanced Recovery environment
Click Advanced Options
Click Troubleshoot
Click Reset this PC
Click Keep my files
Choose your account
Enter your password
Click Continue
Click Reset

If that does not work.

Go to a working computer, download, create a bootable copy, then perform a clean install.

I am beyond words how someone can provide a function to reset their computer but then do exactly not that.  I am in the same boat here as Lili... I reset my PC but was never presented with the opportunity to create a user, so now I have a completely useless PC staring back at me with "Other User."

It is a complete joke. The only way for me to get around it was for someone to create a boot from their pc onto a USB. 

My reason for resetting windows has now returned anyway (pc won't stay shut down) so it was a pointless stressful task!

Yep... this is why everyone is jumping to GOOG, Lili.  Myself included.  GOOG knows and understands what "reset" actually means, for starters. 😉

Had the same problem.

I tried and tested the troubleshooting options here.

I went to a Microsoft Store. The tech guy there told me that it was a Windows 10 update problem.

With the recent Windows 10 update, it corrupted the Windows OS. Corrupted in such a way that when you reinstall Windows 10 via Windows 10 reset, it couldn't load the OS properly because it may be missing important configuration files.

So i left my Microsoft Surface Laptop with them. They'll fix it.

I have this EXACT problem. I bought a NuVision tablet 2n1 windows 10 and reset it multiple times since I've had it BUT after the latest windows update I did a reset and now it doesn't let me create an account or anything it just brings me to the sign in screen for "other user" and no username or password works AND whenever I try to use any other start up options, reset, restore, startup repair, all of it takes me to a BSOD and I'm really getting frustrated with this.

After dealing with this problem for over a week, and goong back and forth with my laptops manufacturer (Tmax Nuvision) and Microsoft we came to the conclusion that there was nothing to do but return it and get another. Mostly because there was no way for me to even boot from disk or usb because the manufacturer disabled boot options in the bios.
