something wrong with my account?

I had no problem with my GameTag for years. now I just bought the new game Ninja Gaiden 3, and wanted to play it online with random people. However when I try to use in-game marketplace, online pass, and Clan battle(multiplay), it gives an message as "You cannot use this online service due to the Parental Control settings on your Xbox Live account."

I've been searching all over the place. 

First of all, I have only this one gametag, and it's not a child account so I can't "promote" it;

second, I've never set any restrictions on my account manually, so i've never touch the privacy settings or whatever;

third, the Family setting was never touched, although I did turn it on, and put the "games" setting to rating M, as the support document suggested. None of these works.

After these attempts, I created a test gametag, and I have no problem using any in game features. but I can't use it because the game came with a online pass that is now tied to this gametag.

So what now? there's something wrong with my account, yet i don't have any problem using the marketplace outside of that game. Anyone know what's going on with my account? or is there anyway to transfer purchases from one gametag to another?

The only other issue I can see as being a reason why you can't play online with this account is that it's a silver account and not gold. Usually the error message for that doesn't mention parental settings though.

Belay that, creating a test gamertag did nothing for me. Did you make the test tag on this site or on the 360? Just curious if that has an effect. I'm not really interested in playing online, but I do want access to the weapons and difficulty modes to come...

I created the test gametag on the 360. although i can't use the online pass again, it seems to have all the features available for me, but i'm not sure how this gonna affect the gaming experience in the future....i'm currently playing with this tag, i can join the online game lobby, haven't yet to try actually playing a online game......

Hey there Koren, to be sure, are you having issues with Ninja Gaiden 3 specifically, and are you getting the same exact error message? Pavanini, what seems to be the issue with your online pass? Lastly, OP--were you planning on upgrading to Gold anytime soon? If not, no worries--I'm just curious as to Smwutches' point, about the free membership.

Hey Panvanini, if you are being told that the code is not valid, I strongly recommend contacting the retailer you purchased the game from about the issue. Koren, are you at least 18 years of age? If so, was your account created with the correct birth date?

My age is entered correctly and I'm older than 18. I've played NInja Gaiden 2, Dark Souls, and etc without fail. Just having issue with Ninja Gaiden 3. Also is it possible for a disc error to cause this? My 360 sometimes won't read the disc. This is the only game that displays this problem.
