How to reset BIOS Password

Hi,

I recently bought a used HP 6560b laptop. After setting it up I discovered that the radio is turned off so I can't use my SIM card. After troubleshooting, I was told to turn on the switch by the side or use Hot keys. There is  no switch (unless it's invisible to my mortal eyes) and there are no hot keys either. After a few google searches I was told I have to turn it on from the BIOS. Problem is that the BIOS is locked and I can;t trace the original owner.

Any help on unlocking it or turning on the radio will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
We can't help you in cracking passwords
Via https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Microsoft Support Engineers cannot help users to in any way circumvent passwords. This is for your security.

Regarding questions with respect to resetting hardware BIOS passwords we would request that you direct customers to the appropriate resources on the Hardware manufacturers sites for the correct procedure.

So I would advise you to contact HP forums for the same.

A specific procedure is required for a password reset with assistance from HP tech support.

HP tech support will be able to generate a device specific key file "crack" needed for clearing the password.

See the linked article for a description of how the procedure is done.

Sometimes a password can be removed by following this:
Turn off laptop.
Unplug all USB devices.
Unplug power cable.
Remove battery.
Remove CMOS battery.
Press & hold on/off button for 30 seconds to dispel any residual power.
Leave for 30 minutes minimum & reassemble.
If not then only the manufacturer of the laptop or the original owner can remove the password.
