Original title: PLEASE HELP!!! "GfxUI has stopped working" error...is this affecting my IE display?

I have seen another conversation about this on these forums (seems to be answered by "ankit9j"), but I need more information, please. . .
I have Windows 7 running on a (otherwise) well-working Toshiba Satellite computer. A couple of months ago, I began getting the same error message, "GfxUI has stopped working__" upon system startup. But it would always disappear (seem to "self-resolve") almost as quickly as it appeared. And I had not noticed any problems with my system until lately. . . I am trying to redesign a few webpages (picture albums) of mine, but the changes in html code and pictures are not being displayed on my computer. However, the changes apparently ARE being saved in the website's "edit" screens, and if I view the webpages on someone else's computer, the changes actually are being displayed.
But I really need to use MY computer. I have cleared my cache and even logged out / logged back into the user's area of the website, but nothing works. Is this problem consistent with the error message, "GfxUI has stopped working__"? I should also say that I have started running into a vew incidents of the error message, "Windows Explorer has stopped working and needs to shut down__" while online.
If the answer to the above is "yes," and I need to follow the steps provided to fix it, I have 1 more question: By uninstalling all of these programs, will I lose certain programs, files and settings on my computer that are VERY important to me. . .such as my Windows Live Mail (numerous e-mail conversations there with detailed information that I use daily and can't afford to lose) or Windows Live Contacts or Pictures or Documents or Favorites, etc.?

Whosoever gets this error, can open the event viewer and go under Applications events to find the following:

Solution:
1. Open Control Panel|Click 'Uninstall a Program' (Programs and Features)
2. Look for Microsoft .Net Framework in the list and Uninstall them all (restarting the computer each time it tells you to)
3. Once they are all gone, open the Uninstall a Program (Programs and Features) again and click Turn Windows features on or off on the bar on the left
4. You'd get another window on and you need to uncheck Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.1 from the list and click OK
5. Proceed with it complete uninstall and restart the computer (when it tells you to)
6. Open the 'Uninstall a Program' (Programs and Features) again and now look for Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and uninstall all these as well.
7. Restart the computer and open the Uninstall a Program (Programs and Features) again and click Turn Windows features on or off on the bar on the left and place a check on Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.1 (it would be a blue square and not a check) and install it again
8. Finally, download & install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package from Microsoft's website

You won't see that error again, provided you have a proper security package (antivirus & firewall) installed. I use Computer Associates Internet Security 2010 which, as per their website, are offering $10000 coverage if your system gets infected after you have installed it!
