I have recently spoken to an agent over the telephone regarding this issue, and I was advised to post into this forum to receive an answer. I have recently purchased the map pack bundle for Call of Duty: World at War. This was specifically to play CoD: WaW with Xbox Live multiplayer.
For the past two weeks, the online gameplay (and therefore the multiplayer map pack) is completely useless. I am receiving in-game messages offering everything from "Free Infections" to people advertising canadian pharmacies and the large discounts a person can receive for ED prescriptions. I do not have children in my household, but if I did I would be very concerned due this alone, especially the linking to external websites.
As the agent on the telephone said that there is "nothing they can do", including offering a refund as I am no longer interested in having a horrible gameplay experience. I am posting this here to ensure I followup with the directions I received from this agent.
At this point in time, as a paying customer of both the Xbox Live service, and the map pack bundle for CoD: WaW, I would like to know what is or can occur to remedy my disgust so far with this experience. When checking the specific Call of Duty: World at War game forum (http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_360_games/a_d/codwaw/f/383.aspx) you will see many users who have posted about this issue. If the Xbox Live service continues to advertise and offer for payable download, these multiplayer map packs, I feel that this issue needs to be addressed formally from the Xbox Live team.
