Sometimes, files will appear, sometimes they won't.
Sometimes we can access a folder; sometimes it won't even show up.
It started a few days ago. One of computers in our network could no longer access a folder meant specifically for it. After a minute of loading (which was unusual for this computer), the computer informed us that "The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'XXXX.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available and then try again."
So, here's my thought - he's not connected to the shared network anymore. I'm not sure who the administrator is (as I just started here!) but I'm pretty sure it's the woman who just went on vacation. But I'm not exactly sure after what happened yesterday.
See, when he went to go do something, all of a sudden a folder was on his desktop that wasn't there since the beginning of the week when this all started. He clicked it and was able to access the originally unusable folder that we were informed was unavailable just the day before. I was relatively shocked because for a better part of the week he had to use my computer to go into his folder. So, we were pretty happy...until we noticed that none of the stuff that he had changed since then had been updating. I had just created a folder to help us keep track of some things and while he could see it, he saw the original save that I had made a few days ago, not the updated and changed files.
If anyone can help us, that would be great. I've been scratching my head over this since it started lol. I just think it's weird that sometimes he can see things on his computer and other times he can't. Sometimes it's the most recently updated one, sometimes it's not. I'm more inclined that somehow, someway, he got booted from the network, but I'm not so sure.
Thanks!
