I have been trying to take an image from part of a pdf document and insert it into powerpoint 2011 for mac.
Practically it is easy to get the image into powerpoint and display it but it always loses quality and is never of a standard that I would use to present to large audiences.
I first simply took the document in adobe reader and took a snapshot of the area and pasted this into the slide. There was a clear deterioration in quality.
I then did the same but after having set file/reduce file size/ to keep current resolution. No better. (and perhaps not surprising as the image quality is poor from the moment it is in the pptx and not only after it is saved)
I then tried some pdf converters largely with no success.
I found enolsoft a nice program to use and I got close but still failed.
If I converted the pdf to say a jpg (but tried for other image types as well) the jpg looked reasonably sharp but then when I inserted the jpg into powerpoint it looked rubbish again.
I was excited when I tried their pdf to pptx converter as the slide finally looked sharp but it was A4 format and before I invested the energy to extract just the area I was interested in I noticed that a lot of things about the formatting of text etc in the image had been changed and it was no longer useable.
Any idea what other solutions there are to this. This must be a common problem and I would like to think with a solution.
