update to Windows 10, version 1709 - Error 0xc190011f

Seems like my system is every time downloading a rather large (2.2 odd Gigabytes) file, every time it tries to install update 1709.
It's tried to do this by about 7 times.
My harddisk space is running out, so after a few failed attempts and restarts, I have to delete the stupid data.
I have about 14GB left right now.

Most people online, who have this problem, seem to have a Corei5 processor (like me), 8 or 16GB of RAM (I have 8), and Windows 64 either Home (mine), or Pro.

So far, there's not been any concrete solution for this problem!

Please, address the issues, or at least, if you don't, prevent my PC from re-downloading that huge update file every time!

Funny thing is, it installed just fine on my HP Celeron N3060 laptop, with win 10, 64bit home edition!

Hi,

This might be caused by corrupted or damaged system files, causing the installation to fail. We'd like to know if you have done any troubleshooting steps so far?

If not, we suggest running Windows update troubleshooter as an initial troubleshooting step. If the issue persists, run the System File Checker tool to help scan and repair corrupted or damaged system files.

Update us with the outcome so we can provide further assistance.

What ever this did, it worked.  After 6 or 8 attempts to install the update, it finally installed after following your suggestion.

thanks, Walt

It more than likely had nothing to do with the solution.

I didn't do anything, and ms from their side, solved it.

Installation was successful, without doing anything.

Standard Microsoft diagnostic procedure - try a bunch of random stuff till something works.

Anyway, I am back up and running.
