Wont let me buy anything

Hey, when I tried to buy a game from the marketplace, after I had typed in all my credit card info, I got notified that I had to "Enter a valid card number".
I got this message 7(!) times, after typing my card info again, and again. Reassuring that it was correct. When I now check the cards transactions, I see that Microsoft has put about 1$ (5 Norwegian Crowns) on hold for every time I tried to go through with the purchase. (7$ in total.) When will my money be returned, and why does it register my card number as unvalid?
