how can I delete dotted lines in a Word document?

I work on a Dell PC and use Windows XP.

The dotted lines are at the bottom of most pages in a 200 page document.

How can I get rid of them?

Answer
Answer
I found a way to get rid of the dots... Easy...
I cut and pasted the 200 word document into an email to myself
and the dots were gone.

Nothing else worked.

You can't "open" the Show/Hide icon, and, even if you could, you wouldn't find No Border there; where you can find No Border depends on what version of Word you have. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/management/what-version-of-word-do-i-have.html.
