Please help- remove header from page 2

Hi, I am having a hard time figuring this out.

I have a header on the first page of my document.  I do not want a header on the 2nd page.  When I try to edit or remove the header on Page 2, it removes the text content, however, it still leaves the blank space for the header.  How do I get rid of this?

Please help! TIA

Answer

Select the text in your header and Cut it (Ctrl+X). On the Header & Footer Tools | Design tab, check the box for "Different First Page." You'll now have a header labeled "First Page Header." Press Ctrl+V to insert your header content there. Note that you'll end up with an extra, empty paragraph, which you'll need to remove. When your document reaches two pages, the header on the second and subsequent pages will be the primary Header, which is empty.
