Office Word Home Page Blog

File / New / Blog post comes right after Blank Document in Word 365. The concept is nice. But the posting is not working from Office x64 Word for my WordPress blog, http://webdesignwords.wordpress.com/. System is Windows 8 x64.

How do we get this Blog post working?

When you click on Publish for the first time, you should be invited to enter information regarding the location of the blog page, the username and the password.

Has that happened?

You might see if http://word.herbtyson.com/?p=218 helps. This same information is given at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/word-cannot-register-your-account (and elsewhere), so I imagine it is correct. If you want it with pictures (screen shots), see this post.

Suzanne, Your (( this post )) link is most telling. Microsoft Word therein conjuring up xml magic looks most especially 32-bit office. I am running an entirely 64-bit EFI machine with Intel i7-3770K, 20gb graphics memory, 32 of RAM, 50gbps ATT, et al. Knowing WordPress as unfortunately as I do, it will be a while. We all avidly register that catchy Office 365 warning, to avoid X64 like the plague. Only in our case, its X32 that just about hangs the system, its so lethargic (echoes of Invisible Lounge Vol. 2, Hybrid Theorie). You see now... we are not impatient sorts. Though, hardware may seem that way to those more refrained. On the bright side, IE is developing, Windows is moving into PCIe 3.0, Intel is about to fully realize i7 potentials (not to mention i9), and Microsoft is keen to subscribe an upcoming version of Windows. So... while our Word is labile in its blog department, we new age peoples do enjoy other benefits, right? Just not blogging to WordPress from Office 365 x64. Not today.

Also, please do not overlook that WordPress includes a feature rich paid version (about $2.month, not bad), so if you don't see some features others boast, think about making your tiny dev contribution.

Thank you all for your so kind assistance. If any believe it has nothing to do with 'system equilibrium' by all means do challenge this exact post, and I shall look deeper and share some solution for all. Otherwise, again, thank you. Smooth waters here, moving on. (( smiles ))

Most of your reply is Greek to me, but I take it that the solution that works for 32-bit Office does not work for 64-bit. Sorry about that.

I should add that my WordPress blog (which I can easily post to from Word 2007 and 2010--haven't tried in Word 2013 because why would I?) is so old that the Writing settings don't have the option mentioned as the solution. I guess I'm using an old version of WP, and that's fine with me as long as it works.

Old is gold, they say. Whenever I occasional remember the address of my ten year WP account, it impresses me. But all the fiddlesticks have changed. Best look, admire, don't breathe.

Today's has a simple bliss about it.

Yes, I looked at it earlier. A bit plain for my taste, but it suits your purpose.
