Word Anchors

I really do not understand the whole idea of anchors in Word 2013. Could someone please suggest how I could get more information on this?

Answer

Any object in Word that is not in the text layer (In Line With Text)--such as a picture, a drawing, a wrapped table--must be anchored to a text paragraph. When the anchor paragraph moves to another page, the anchored object will move with it. If the anchor is not locked to a specific paragraph, it can be dragged to a different paragraph without altering the position of the object itself (which can be positioned relative to the page or margins instead of the paragraph).
