Making Single Option Checkboxes in MS Word 2013

Hey All,

I'm attempting to make single option check boxes that we'll be using for customer approval e-mail.

What I mean by single option is, you can only select one of two (approved or not approved) options within

the body of the e-mail.

I've got the checkbox thing down-pat, but I need to make it so only one is selectable by the recipient.

The "VOTE" function is not acceptable for what we need to do.

If anyone has any info on how I can do this, it would be fantastic.

Thank You

-Kevin

When you want mutually exclusive choices, you need to use radio buttons instead of check boxes; unfortunately, there is no radio button content control.

In order to use check boxes, you have to use a binary choice for a single check box (checked = approved; unchecked = not approved).

Have you thought about converting this to a pdf form?

If you can have macro enabled documents then there is now:

Microsoft really needs to take another look at their quite incomplete suite of content controls.  If a nub like me can work this out, it seems their legion of engineers could manage it.

Yes, and I know how to do that, but unfortunately that adds 3 to 4 additional steps onto something that's we're trying to make quick, and we'd have a bunch of emails with attachments in out database, which we don't want. :\

I agree.... their set of tools is quite incomplete, especially in a world dominated by outlook e-mail...

I'll try that link tomorrow.

Kevin,

I didn't notice the OUTLOOK part until just now.  The add-in lets you create CC option buttons in a Word document.  I did not try in an Outlook e-mail.  Let me know the result.  Thanks.

Indeed, if the controls are to be used in the body of the email (as stated in the initial question), I'm inclined to move this thread to the Outlook forum.

Creating checkboxes for the body of an e-mail in Outlook is like jumping through a child-sized Hula-hoop with an elephant in your arms... which is why I moved to Word and just executed a "paste special" and now it's looking like there's no option at all... which is silly since you can send HTML coded e-mail all day long.

Well... unfortunately I can't figure out a way to transfer the information to Outlook, and still have it work... thanks for all of your input, I sincerely do appreciate it, and thank you for serving.
