Beeping While Scrolling

In Word 2013, I am getting a beeping tone as I scroll up and down. It is inconsistent, and incredibly annoying. Sometimes it is just one beep, and other times it is several. I have never had this problem with any other program, and cannot get it to stop. I have unchecked the box for "Provide Feedback with Sound," but to no avail.

I would love to know why this is happening and how to stop it. Alternatively, is there a way to completely silence Word? Thanks!

Do you perhaps have some option in the Ease of Access Center (in the Windows Control Panel) inadvertently enabled?

I have this problem but it is not limited to Word. It occurs anytime I scroll quickly, which implies to me that it is a problem with the "system" not being able to keep up with my intended scrolling speed. I put system in quotes because it could be graphics card related, OS related, mouse driver related, or a combination thereof. In my experience, Adobe Acrobat and MS Office products have the most consistent beeping while scrolling large documents.
