Office Click-to-Run 2010 doesn't work

I have Office Starter 2010 pre-installed on my computer and some time ago it stopped working. When I try to open either Word or Excel the usual dialog box pops up that says something along the lines of starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run (it's not in English but that's the general meaning) and it just stays like that forever. That box stays open until I close it manually by terminating cvh.exe on task manager.
I tried uninstalling Office Starter by the instructions given here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c02981221#N301
but it had no effect, the same problem still remains. It seems to me that the problem is with Microsoft Office Click-to-Run, not the Office Starter. Is there any way to reinstall or fix it?
If you have actually uninstalled Office Starter, then you may be out of luck, but see this post.

Thank you for trying to help, but my problem started some time ago, in June I think and as far as I can tell, doesn't have anything to do with file associations (it won't open the program, when I try to open a file nor when I try to start it directly). Neither am I given any sort of error message, the dialog box just sort of freezes (not completely, the yellow graphics still move, but it just says starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run without actually doing anything). Like I said, it seems to me, that it's the Microsoft Office Click-to-Run that's damaged somehow.

There's a KB article about this: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/update-repair-or-uninstall-office-click-to-run-HA010382089.aspx. But I expect you've already tried that.

Yes, I've tried repairing Office Starter several times but it hasn't led to any results and like I said, uninstalling and reinstalling it didn't have any effect either.
