word 2010 page numbering error (WITH VIDEO LINK)

Can't get to your video, but how are you formatting the page numbers?  Via the Page Number Format dialog?

Does your document contain multiple Sections?

Your video indicates that you have more than one section. Even with Link to Previous enabled, you can change the number format and restart numbering within a given section (that is, you don't have to unlink sections to do that). If you want to restart at 1, you must do so in the section where you want the numbering to start. And you need to use Format Page Number in each section.

i think that is somo kind of windows error, because i reinstalled office, to MS OFFICE 2013 and i get the same "error" if i want to change page numers from 1,2,3 to I,II,III whole numbers on whole document doesnt change, only that one on which i press format page numbers, and earlier everything was fine, i have a document saved on my pc, earlier i could open it with word and change page numbering any way i want, but now, i cant, and reinstalling application is not helping, this is seriuos trouble and i think it is not correctable error, which i can simply correct in word opotions or so

ok i understood what you sayed, and i absolutely agree with you and your help and i am very thankfull for it, but i uploaded other video, in which i open earlier written document, with MS WORD 2013, all pages are breaked with page layout - breaks - next page, as you can see in the end of my second video, and earlier when word was working as a charm, i just opened this document and made changes under format page numbers to the only one page number and all pages of whole document immediatly changed as i wanted, later something has happened, and this trick didnt worked anymore to me, even after reinstalling office! thats very strange i never before encountered this sort of problem, so heres link to my second video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnhMItV2d6w&feature=youtu.be

in every page number when i press alt and f9 i see {PAGE...\*.MERGEFORMAT} message, what does that mean? thanks for answer i am really looking forward to it :)

Unfortunately, the \* MERGEFORMAT switch doesn't give a clue, as it's added by default to many fields in Word, and it doesn't affect the number format. (To learn more about general switches, see the article at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/format-field-switch-HP005186222.aspx.)

To clarify, it is a specific document being affected, right?

it is very strange, but not all documents have same issue, for example that document in my second video which i have uploaded, has this trouble, but other hasnt, and the third one document, on my HDD has also the same problem, and what is strangest is that every new document that i make with word, also has this page numbering issue, (cant chage whole document page numers from 123 to I,II,III,IV,)

i pressed the alt+f9 buttons at, the document, who has no issues at all with page numbering,( as i mentioned earlier,) but i get the same message {PAGE...\*.MERGEFORMAT} i mean at the good document

Delete everything after the E of PAGE so that all that you have is

{ PAGE }

and see if that makes any difference.
