why do i not have review tab on my tools menu

i am trying to get the review tab i know i have to click on file then option then customize ribbon but after i clicked on file no option showed up why
There is no Tools item on the ribbon in Word 2007 or later. There was a Tools menu in older versions, though.

To show the Review tab on the ribbon, click File tab | Options | Customize Ribbon. Make sure there is a check mark next to "Review" and click OK.

I'm not sure if this applies in your case but the Review ribbon menu and File, Options, Customize the Ribbon command are not available in the Word 2010 Starter Edition. If you have both versions on your computer, you may have inadvertently opened your document in the wrong one. If you have only the Office 2010 Starter edition then you would need to upgrade to one of the retail versions to gain the commands.


Another option is either OpenOffice or Libre Office. Both are full featured office application suited available for free download/installation and use for the life of your computer.
