MS Word Spacing

Hi Microsoft Community,

I want to know how to stop MS Word from adding extra space between texts in a sentence, in certain paragraphs.

I'm not looking to adjust the space between paragraphs but rather the space between texts in a sentence that seem to magically create itself.

Can you tell me why this may be happening and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance.

If text is justified, spacing between words will be different from line to line. You can make it more uniform by judicious use of conditional hyphenation (Ctrl+Hyphen) at the ends of lines.

If your paragraphs are not justified and you are seeing uneven spacing, then it may be that you are inadvertently pressing the Spacebar more than once. Display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+*) to see if there is more than one dot between words.

In the Home tab >Paragraph group click on the "Line & Paragraph Spacing" drop down button > "Line Spacing Options" command.

The "Before" and "After" spacing controls space between paragraphs.

The "Line Spacing" controls space between lines in a paragraph.
