MS Word 2010, different first page header and footer problem

Hi. I used the different first page for the header and footer but I encountered a problem when I tested my template. After I exit the header & footer view, and dropped in some sample text....then select everything and hit delete-the second page header and footer is gone along with the first page header and footer.

Answer

Your First Page Header/Footer should be retained even if the template is only one page. When you delete the document content, the primary Header/Footer will not be visible but are saved by Word. When your document content flows to the second page, they will be used. You can test this by inserting a page break to generate a second page. If you are also losing the First Page Header/Footer, then something is wrong.
