You can add the Grow Font 1 Pt command to the Quick Access Toolbar. Alternatively, use the default shortcut Alt+Ctrl+9.

The correct shortcuts are Ctrl+] to increase and Ctrl+[ to decrease.

Ctrl+} (that is, Ctrl+Shift+]) and Ctrl+{ (Ctrl+Shift+[) are not assigned to this function by default, at least not on US keyboards.

Similar commands that increase/decrease all selected text to the next size listed in the Font dropdown are Ctrl+> and Ctrl+<.

The first two commands, as Stefan mentioned, are called GrowFontOnePoint and ShrinkFontOnePoint, as opposed to just GrowFont and ShrinkFont for the other two.

The difference between these commands can be seen easily in the range between 10 and 14. If you use Ctrl+> or Ctrl+< on 12-point text, you will get 11-point and 14-point, respectively. If you use Ctrl+] or Ctrl+[, you will get 11-point or 13-point.

I don't see Alt+Ctrl+9 listed as a shortcut in my (U.S.) version of Word. The default shortcut here is Ctrl+].

OK, it's that keyboard layout thing again (regional settings may also be relevant in this context). On my Swedish keyboard, "]" is on the same key as the number 9 (I would type ] by pressing AltGr+9).

Okay, I figured it was something like that. So the bottom line is that the shortcut involves ] on any keyboard, but the other key pressed with it may vary?

So it seems. But every time this comes up, I realize that we will never remember which "rules" apply. In other words, we don't really learn anything. :-)

We may not but quicken the work if we are in a work environment. Another option to increase the font using the key board shortcuts is:

OFFICE 2010

Select the preferred text and apply the keyboard shortcut as below:

Alt + H and leave it then click F and S seperately.

Then type the required point size of your preferred text and enjoy.

enjoy frnzzzzzzz

What you are suggesting activates the Font Size box on the Home tab (at least it does in an English version of Word) which will let you specify a specific font size for the selection. But that isn't what the original poster was asking for.
