How can i both underline and strikeout text within a footnote?

I'm working with a legal document that makes extensive use of footnotes.  The author wants to underline some text, and strike through other text.  Is there a way to do this?  I'm currently trying to find a solution using the "Footnote Text" style option.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
If only part of a footnote text paragraph should have underline and/or strikethrough formatting, create a character style with those characteristics.

While a character style is certainly a possibility (especially if you wanted both underline and strikethrough), is there some reason you're not using the Underline and Strikethrough buttons in the Font group on the Home tab? If you prefer to use keyboard shortcuts, there is a built-in one for Underline (Ctrl+U) and you can assign one to Strikethrough.

I assume that Track Changes is not appropriate for this situation.
