DOWNLOAD MANAGER WONT WORK OR REINSTALL

Is this only method to get help from Microsoft nowadays?

I cannot download certain docments and have to send them to a different computer to download ( to open)  or to print. says download manager is not loaded proper ly, so I delted it and downloaded a download manager from Microsoft...still DOES NOT WORK. (ENCODING message)

From where are you downloading the documents?  What Web Browser are you using?  What anti-virus software do you have installed?

This does not appear to be a Word-related issue, and Firefox is not a Microsoft product. You can try downloading using Internet Explorer, and, if problems persist, post a question in the forum for the appropriate version of Internet Explorer.
