Centering an image when wrapping it "In Line With Text"

Hello!

I am using Word 2010.

I need to insert an image (.jpg format) into a document, and I want it to be wider then the margins I set.

I want to keep using the "In Line With Text" object position option but when changing the image size to wider then my narrows, the image is not centered on the page anymore. How can I keep it centered with relation to the page and still use "In Line With Text"?

I hope you understand! Thank you very much.

Exactly. To make a paragraph wider than the page margins, you drag the paragraph indent markers. This is the same thing you are doing by setting a negative indent in the Paragraph dialog; it's just more approximate and a lot quicker. The screen shot below shows the result. Observe the ruler and the text boundaries showing the page margins.

First, calculate the print width:

Page Width - Left margin - Right margin - Gutter = Print Width.

For example:

21.0cm - 3.18cm - 2.54cm - 0 = 15.28cm

Next, subtract the Image Width from the Print Width and divide the result by 2 to get the required left indent.

For example:

(18cm - 15.28cm) /2 = -1.36cm.
