How to change Word language from Polish to English. (Not the spell check/grammar language but the program's language itself)

Hello,
Please help! Some years back I purchased my computer from a fellow student. She was from Poland and so all of MS Office 2007 was set to the Polish language. I have spent considerable time attempting to change the language to English (even going into the registry as one person advised) but it does not seem to work. There is even a language button on the bottom of the screen in MS Word which says 'Angielski' which I think means 'English' and when clicking there you can select US English, but it only seems to apply to the grammar and spell check, not to MS Word itself (File, Edit, Cut, Copy, things like this)
I happen to be using MS Word much more now than before and so trying to navigate between it and Google Translate is getting frustrating.
      Please help!

Every version of Office comes with proofing tools for several languages (in the English version, they are English, French, and Spanish), but the interface is set for that particular language, so you will not be able to get an English interface in a Polish version of Office.

What you need is an English Language Pack (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/language-packs/). Unfortunately, Language Packs are available only for Office 2010 and Office 2013. Language Interface Packs are available for Office 2007 (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/office-language-interface-pack-lip-downloads-HA001113350.aspx), but they include only languages for which Language Packs are not available, so they don't include English.

If you want an English version of Office, I'm afraid you're going to have to purchase one. It's unlikely you'll be able to find a legitimate retail version of Office 2007, but, if you don't want to upgrade to Office 2013 (and there are plenty of good reasons for being wary), you might be able to find a copy of Office 2010.
