Word 2003, annoying (Latin) next to style types

Yesterday windows 7 was loaded on my work PC with Word 2003.  I am finding it highly annoying that at the top of the page, to the L of the font type (style) it lists the style name as '(Latin) Arial' and all the style formats have '(Latin)' before them.   Is there anything I can do to get rid of that?

I guess it is something to do with languages, pointing out that it is Latin as opposed to Asian for example?

Many thanks

DM

Do you have support for East Asian languages enabled?

Hi.  I'm not sure, where would I go to check please?  Under Region & Language in the control panel, it only says UK English.

The article at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/enable-east-asian-language-support-for-word-HA001130675.aspx?CTT=1&origin=EC001022713 explains how to enable East Asian language support in Word 2003.  For Windows 7, there appears to be an answer at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/windows-7-east-asian-language-support-sinilar-to/cbba2f77-92fc-450d-a826-94b658a8bf13.

In the Region and Language window of Control Panel, are you looking at the Keyboards and Languages tab?

Hi Suzanne

I haven't looked at those links yet, but I checked all the tabs and settings in the R&L window and everything is set to UK English and I have no options to change it.

I am just about to leave work so will check those links in the morning incase I have missed anything.

Many thanks you for your help, I'll let you know how I get on.

Edit:  I looked at both links and I think they suggest the way you enable support of other languages is to change settings in the Keyboard and Languages tab.  That means that is not the cause of the problem then as everything is set to UK English. :(
